Sheelen Patel - Dental Surgeon

Dr Sheelen Patel graduated from Cardiff University with an honours degree in Dental Surgery. He is an experienced and enthusiastic dentist who is both dedicated and passionate in providing the highest quality of care to his patients. He joined Hadleigh Dental in 2019 after being handpicked by Dr Singh following an intensive recruitment process. Sheelen has ties to the local area and loves the rural Suffolk lifestyle.

He has experience of working within both general practice as well as the hospital setting. It is here he was able to further his skills and knowledge within a number of different dental specialties- including Restorative, Oral Medicine, Acute Dental and Oral Surgery. It was at Guys Hospital in London that he developed his passion for Oral Surgery and as a result continues to work there as a Specialty Dentist/ Staff Grade Oral Surgeon.

Sheelen prides himself in being empathetic to his patient’s prerequisites and requirements. He understands how personal dentistry is and therefore prioritises spending time in getting to know his patients before tailoring a treatment plan to their specific wishes. He feels this allows him to give his patients the highest standard of care, but also create a positive experience along the way.

Sheelen takes great pleasure in the academic side of dentistry. He strives to keep up with new and innovative treatments, with the aim of providing the best possible care to his patients. Sheelen was awarded the John Miller Prize in Dentistry for his final year dissertation, and still continues to recognise the importance of evidence based dentistry has within our profession. Therefore he remains actively involved in research projects within the Oral Surgery Department at Guys Hospital.

Outside of work, Sheelen enjoys travelling as well as spending time with friends and family. He is an avid sports fan, his first passion is football though this is closely followed by his love of Rugby; both of which he has played at a competitive level in the past. He also enjoys skiing and golf in his spare time.
