GDC NO. 229872
Divya qualified from Kings College London Dental Institute in July 2012.
Since qualification she undertook her Vocational training in a general dental practice in Sudbury, Suffolk, following which, she worked in a number of dental practices in Essex. During this time, she wanted to continue to expand her skill set and returned to carry out Dental Foundation training in Oral surgery and Restorative Dentistry at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. It was here she developed a keen interest in Periodontology and felt she wanted to pursue her career pathway in this field. She entered into Specialist training in Periodontology at the Eastman Dental Hospital in 2016 and completed in 2019 qualifying with a distinction and awarded the Dean’s List commendation. Her postgraduate qualification has provided her with a high level of clinical expertise in providing treatment for patients for complex periodontal needs.
She is committed to continue to progress in the field of Periodontology and works as a Senior Clinical Teaching Fellow in Periodontology at the Eastman Dental Institute. This allows her to teach postgraduate students and develop her research. Her area of interest is “masticatory function patients with periodontitis” and she hopes to identify difficulties periodontitis patients can struggle with when eating, and strategies to improve this. She was nominated for the Sir Wilfred Fish Research Prize 2019 for her work in this area.
She is passionate about providing treatment to stabilise periodontal (gum) disease, cosmetic gum procedures utilising minimally invasive techniques. She accepts referrals from local referring dentists for non-surgical and surgical treatments and periodontal plastic surgical treatments such as gum grafts, crown lengthening and peri-implantitis.
When she is not working, she enjoys running and spending time with her friends and family.
